Karnataka BJP confirmed its agreement with NDA ally Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) on the scheduled padayatra against the Bidadi Township Project. Senior BJP leader N. Ravikumar stated that both parties share the same goal of opposing the State government’s plan. The BJP expressed no objections to JD(S)’s proposed padayatra dates of July 30, 31, and August 1.

Amid speculation about coordination between the two NDA partners, Ravikumar emphasized unity in their objective. He mentioned that discussions between BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra and JD(S) leaders will determine the protest’s nature and schedule. Both parties aim for the immediate withdrawal of the contentious Bidadi Township Project.

Ravikumar criticized Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, accusing the Congress government of contradictory actions on land acquisition. He highlighted the farmers’ concerns over the project and urged the government to reconsider using agricultural land. The BJP leader stressed the NDA’s solidarity in demanding the scrapping of the Bidadi Township Project.
