Karnataka BJP is set to hold a protest in Ballari city, demanding the arrest of Congress MLA Nara Bharath Reddy in connection with the death of a Congress worker. They are also calling for the case to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Elaborate security measures have been put in place by the police for the protest rally due to the seriousness of the situation.
Gali Janardhana Reddy, a BJP MLA and mining tycoon, mentioned that the party will conduct a series of protests against the government, with the upcoming rally being the first step. Reddy expressed concern over the incident, stating that private gunmen were involved in an attack on his home, leading to the death of the Congress worker.
Reddy questioned the delay in the arrest of MLA Bharat Reddy, pointing out that three gunmen associated with the MLA have already been apprehended by the police. He emphasized that the government’s claim of not having private gunmen but only government-assigned ones was questionable. Reddy also criticized D.K. Shivakumar’s support for Nara Bharath Reddy, casting doubt on the likelihood of his arrest.
Former Deputy CM Govind Karjol criticized the current government, alleging misgovernance during the Siddaramaiah-led tenure. He highlighted the discontent among the people due to the administration’s performance and called for the arrest of Nara Bharath Reddy in the case related to the Congress worker’s death.
