Karnataka BJP has expressed satisfaction with the High Court’s decision supporting the marks system for Class 10 Hindi and third-language subjects. The party criticized the Congress government, calling it a significant embarrassment. Senior BJP leader N. Ravikumar highlighted that the High Court ruled in favor of awarding marks for Hindi, causing embarrassment to the state government, Education Minister, and Education Department.
Decisions regarding Hindi examinations were criticized as arbitrary, leading to concerns among students and parents. The government’s previous stance on not awarding marks for Hindi had faced opposition, with demands for proper conduct of exams. The High Court’s directive to award marks instead of grades has been seen as a relief for students and parents, overturning the government’s decision.
The Karnataka High Court’s recent ruling directs the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board to assign marks for SSLC Hindi subjects from the current academic year onwards. The court emphasized the importance of upholding the evaluation system until appropriate rules are established by the government.
