As discontent grows among Karnataka’s newly sworn-in cabinet members regarding portfolio allocations, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar traveled to New Delhi on Wednesday to meet with the party high command. The visit follows several ministers expressing dissatisfaction over their ministerial roles and positions. Food and Civil Supplies Minister KH Muniyappa, accompanying Shivakumar, is reportedly unhappy with his current portfolio and is pushing for a change.
Senior Congress leader T.B. Jayachandra, a seven-time MLA, has also shown disappointment at not being included in the cabinet. Sources close to Jayachandra reveal his discontent over the lack of a position matching his seniority and experience. He is said to be in Delhi meeting with senior party leaders to present his case.
Former minister Zameer Ahmad Khan, known for his association with ex-CM Siddaramaiah, seemed visibly upset when questioned about his ministerial aspirations. Despite demands from supporters for a cabinet position, Khan declined to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil dismissed reports of dissatisfaction over not being appointed Deputy Chief Minister, emphasizing the criteria for the role and expressing contentment with the decision.
