Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar revealed that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge is set to file his Rajya Sabha election nomination on Friday. The event, to be attended by Rahul Gandhi, will take place in Bengaluru. Alongside Kharge, Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Mansoor Ali Khan will also submit their nominations from Karnataka.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bengaluru on June 5 is scheduled for an official party program at Vidhana Soudha at 1.30 p.m. The nomination process for Legislative Council candidates, including five from the party, will also occur. Shivakumar expressed confidence in the Congress government’s mandate and emphasized the importance of party unity for governance.
The Chief Minister highlighted the trust placed in him by the people of Karnataka from day one. He mentioned the party’s focus on bringing good governance back to the state. Addressing the issue of free bus passes, Shivakumar clarified that the scheme is exclusively for Karnataka students, extending from school to postgraduate levels.
Shivakumar postponed the proposed foundation laying for the Congress Bhavan due to scheduling constraints. Additionally, he paid respects to national leaders’ statues at Vidhana Soudha and announced plans to engage with constituents in Kanakapura. The Chief Minister assured personal interactions with the public to address their concerns effectively.
