Karnataka Chief Minister-designate D.K. Shivakumar clarified that the names circulating in the media regarding the new state Cabinet are unofficial. He mentioned that the final list would be provided by the Congress high command on Wednesday. Shivakumar refrained from confirming the creation of a Deputy Chief Minister position.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru after a visit to New Delhi, Shivakumar highlighted that the party leadership is in the final stages of Cabinet decision-making. He emphasized that the names in the media are not official and that the high command would send the approved list by midday.
Shivakumar mentioned that upon receiving the finalized list from the party leadership, he would forward it to Raj Bhavan. He also announced the postponement of the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Congress Bhavan in Bengaluru, originally scheduled for Wednesday evening.
Referring to the event attendees, Shivakumar stated that those arriving at Bharat Jodo Bhavan on Wednesday would be addressed after official engagements. He also hinted at a possible Deputy Chief Minister appointment without confirming any names, amid reports of a prominent Congress leader from the Dalit community being selected for the role.
