Congress Legislature Party leader and Karnataka Chief Minister-designate D.K. Shivakumar stated that the party high command would determine if ministers would be sworn in with him on June 3. Shivakumar emphasized that he would refrain from further comments on this issue. The proposed Congress Bhavan site inspection was followed by Shivakumar mentioning plans for a foundation stone-laying ceremony post the swearing-in event.
Following the swearing-in on June 3, a bhoomi puja for the Congress Bhavan construction near Race Course Road is under consideration. AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi’s attendance is yet to be confirmed for the event. Invitations will be extended to various party officials and leaders, with the ceremony not open to the general public due to space constraints.
Shivakumar highlighted that the event’s invitation is pending formal handover to Rahul Gandhi. Preparation coordination for the ceremony is led by senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy. Arrangements have been made for party leaders to watch the swearing-in proceedings on LED screens at the Congress office, ensuring participation for those who contributed to the party’s efforts.
Plans to lay foundation stones for 100 party offices across Karnataka will be initiated soon. The swearing-in ceremony venue choice, Lok Bhavan over Vidhana Soudha steps, aims to prevent traffic congestion and inconvenience to Bengaluru residents due to limited space. Shivakumar emphasized the event’s simplicity and the inability to accommodate a large crowd, urging party workers’ understanding.
