Amid escalating tensions involving US-Israel strikes on Iran, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar criticized the attack on a school that resulted in the deaths of several children. Expressing concern, Shivakumar emphasized the need to safeguard innocent lives and urged protection for Indian citizens stranded in Gulf countries, including Dubai.
Shivakumar highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety of Kannadigas in regions like Saudi Arabia and Dubai. He pledged to appeal to the Central government to take necessary measures to protect Indian citizens, particularly those from Karnataka and Kerala, emphasizing the significance of instilling confidence among the populace and condemning loss of life worldwide.
Addressing specific cases of individuals stranded abroad, Shivakumar emphasized the need to safeguard all citizens, including families of prominent figures like MLAs A.C. Srinivas and Bharat Reddy, and MLC Bhoje Gowda, who are currently stuck in Dubai. He stressed the importance of support from Kannada organizations in fostering assurance among the affected individuals.
Shivakumar also emphasized the role of governmental bodies in providing reassurance and confidence to citizens, advocating for peace and unity in the face of global conflicts. He called for an end to the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, underscoring the potential repercussions on India and the necessity for collective efforts towards peace and stability.
