The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister is set to return to Bengaluru after his visit to the temple. The Thoothukudi Murugan temple visit holds significance amidst the ongoing leadership conflicts in Karnataka. The temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan and situated on the Bay of Bengal shore, is known as the Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur in Thoothukudi district.
The Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple is one of the six sacred ‘Arupadaiveedu’ of Lord Murugan, symbolizing his triumph over the demon Surapadman. With a history spanning 2,000 to 3,000 years, the temple worships Lord Murugan as Jayanthinathar, marking the spot where he rested post his victory. This ancient temple, also known as Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, is highly revered in South India for its spiritual essence and traditional rituals.
Millions of devotees flock to Tiruchendur annually to seek blessings from Lord Murugan, partake in age-old ceremonies, and immerse in the temple’s spiritual ambiance. The temple is not only famous for its divine presence but also for its meticulously conducted daily poojas and customary rituals. Trained priests perform spiritual ceremonies throughout the day following ancient Murugan worship traditions.
