The Karnataka government recently obtained the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Madavara-Tumakuru Metro Rail project at Vidhana Soudha. Home Minister G. Parameshwara accepted the DPR in the presence of Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Tushar Girinath, and officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The DPR will undergo discussion and decision-making in the state Cabinet.
The DPR for the Madavara-Tumakuru Metro Rail project will be presented to the Cabinet for further deliberation and decision-making. This 59.6-km metro extension from Madavara to Tumakuru, estimated at Rs 20,649 crore, will include 27 elevated stations and operate under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Aarvee Engineering Consultants completed feasibility studies to ascertain the project’s technical and economic viability.
