The Karnataka government has taken action by suspending three police officers, including an inspector and a sub-inspector, in connection with the tragic murder of six-year-old Vennila in Bengaluru’s Kadugodi area. Shocking details emerged during the investigation, leading to a murder case against the child’s mother and her alleged partner. Home Minister Priyank Kharge mentioned that there were lapses in the initial handling of the case by the investigating officers.
Kharge stated that the police sub-inspector had initially treated the case as an unnatural death, delaying the proper investigation process. The government has suspended the police Inspector, PSI, and a writer in response. The two primary suspects have been arrested, and the investigation into the case is ongoing, with questions arising about the delay in the case investigation.
According to police reports, Vennila’s mother, Priyanka P., and her partner, Mohan J. Mahaningappa, are accused of murdering the child due to their relationship concerns. The incident was first reported as an unnatural death, but further scrutiny was initiated following suspicions raised by the child’s father, Praveen Basappa. Investigations revealed that the child was allegedly assaulted and then strangled to death by Mahaningappa.
Police investigations unveiled a disturbing sequence of events where the accused spent hours with the child’s body before reporting the death. The child’s father alleged foul play and negligence by the police, leading to the arrest of the suspects. The case has shed light on the tragic circumstances surrounding Vennila’s death and the disturbing events that transpired before her demise.
