The Karnataka government is preparing to mark three years in office with a grand event named “Pragatiyatta Karnataka” in Tumakuru, near Bengaluru. As part of this celebration, property documents will be distributed to 1.52 lakh beneficiaries. Home Minister G. Parameshwara emphasized that the leadership issues within the Congress party should not be associated with this government event.
Parameshwara highlighted that the event would focus on two main aspects: distributing sale deeds to beneficiaries and commemorating three years since coming into power. He stressed the importance of informing the public about the government’s achievements as promised in their election manifesto. The Home Minister clarified that the event is not intended as a platform to display political strength but to communicate the government’s initiatives.
Responding to an upcoming strike by RTC staffers, Parameshwara stated that the protest aims to draw attention to their demands. He assured that the government is addressing the issue, with plans for the Chief Minister to meet with the employees after May 20 if necessary. Short-term goals from the manifesto have been largely accomplished, with a focus now shifting to long-term projects like irrigation schemes over the next two years.
Karnataka BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the Congress government, questioning the rationale behind their upcoming convention. He accused the government of administrative failures, lack of job creation, and neglecting farmers and women’s welfare. Vijayendra also alleged corruption in various sectors and criticized the government’s handling of reservation issues, education policies, and healthcare.
