Karnataka Minister for School Education and Literacy, Madhu Bangarappa, has urged the scrapping of the National Testing Agency (NTA) following the NEET re-examination due to a question paper leak. Bangarappa emphasized the need for future discussions between the Centre and state governments on NEET to prevent such incidents. He criticized the NTA’s handling of exams, stating that students are facing undue stress due to its failures.
Bangarappa accused the BJP of pursuing a forceful approach and questioned the competence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He highlighted allegations that the BJP leaders themselves doubt Pradhan’s abilities. Additionally, Bangarappa criticized the NTA for allegedly profiting nearly Rs 300 crore from conducting exams and blamed the Prime Minister for the crisis, alleging a dictatorial environment in the country.
The Minister claimed that the Congress is advocating for students’ rights while accusing the BJP of diverting attention by targeting Pakistan. He labeled the NEET paper leak as a significant tragedy, emphasizing the students’ hard work in preparing for the exam. Bangarappa condemned the decision for a re-examination, citing multiple instances of question paper leaks since the NTA’s establishment and called for accountability from the Prime Minister regarding the leaks.
Bangarappa further lambasted Dharmendra Pradhan for his silence on the issue, pointing out the lack of response from the Education Minister. He called for Prime Minister Modi to address the situation, criticizing the government’s actions and emphasizing the importance of error-free exams for the future of the country.
