Karnataka Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, and Madikeri District In-charge Minister N.S. Boseraju has instructed the Madikeri district administration to enforce guidelines at the Dubare Elephant Camp following the tragic death of a woman tourist during a clash between captive elephants. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Minister has sought a comprehensive report on the incident’s cause and any lapses in tourist guideline management.

In light of the incident, the Minister emphasized the importance of implementing strict safety guidelines at the camp to ensure tourist safety. He urged officials and staff to ensure the mandatory adherence to these guidelines and advised the district administration to take necessary precautionary measures. The Minister highlighted the unpredictability of wild animals’ behavior and urged visitors to strictly follow instructions issued by the Forest Department for their safety.
