Karnataka Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, IT, and Biotechnology, Priyank Kharge, announced plans for a meeting to determine the Chief Minister’s post in Kerala. The decision will be communicated to the Congress high command by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
In response to the political situation in Tamil Nadu, Minister Kharge criticized the Governor’s actions, stating that the majority should be proven on the House floor, not at the Governor’s residence. He expressed concerns about the politicization of Constitutional offices by Governors.
Regarding the IPL match-shifting controversy, Priyank Kharge questioned whether Union Home Minister Amit Shah watches cricket matches by purchasing tickets or receives them for free. He defended the decision to shift IPL matches from Bengaluru, citing profit motives and denied claims of legislators seeking specific numbers of tickets.
Minister Kharge accused the BJP of prioritizing profits over Karnataka’s interests by relocating IPL matches to Gujarat. He emphasized that there were no security concerns related to legislators or MPs and criticized the decision to move all matches to Gujarat without valid reasons.
