Minister for Water Resources, Ramalinga Reddy, expressed optimism regarding the ongoing developments within the Congress party in Karnataka. He mentioned that his resignation had not yet been accepted by the leadership, and he believed that the existing confusion would be resolved soon. Senior leaders have intervened, and discussions are in progress to address the situation amicably.
AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, along with Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, have been involved in discussions with Reddy. The Congress State President B.K. Hariprasad has also emphasized the importance of unity within the party. Reddy mentioned that CM Shivakumar and Surjewala are expected to meet again to reach a final decision, indicating that his resignation might not be accepted.
Reddy clarified that he had not actively sought the Bengaluru Development portfolio and had limited knowledge of the irrigation department, the portfolio he currently holds. He highlighted that his ministerial position was not a result of personal lobbying but based on party decisions. Reddy expressed hope that the ongoing discussions would bring clarity soon, emphasizing his patience and confidence in resolving the situation.
