Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar mentioned that the topic of banning mobile phones in schools is currently being debated, with pressure coming from parents. He noted that this issue is also being considered at an international level. Home Minister G. Parameshwara added that discussions have taken place regarding imposing a ban on mobile phones in educational institutions, citing concerns about the impact on children’s education.
Shivakumar acknowledged Minister Mahadevappa’s mention of a Dalit Chief Minister, referring to him as a national leader and extending greetings. Addressing concerns about the quality of Bengaluru’s lake water, Shivakumar clarified that the government has never advocated for using this water for drinking or bathing, emphasizing its role in groundwater recharge.
In response to the Congress protest against the Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, Shivakumar highlighted the lack of government clarification or action, leading to delays in wage payments. He expressed plans for a protest against these issues, including organizing a ‘NREGA Bachao Andolan’ protest in Chikkaballapur.
