Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, criticized the Congress government for taking credit for recruitments done under the previous BJP-led government. Narayanaswamy expressed disappointment, stating that the current government was falsely portraying the achievements of its predecessor as its own. He highlighted concerns about the government providing inaccurate information on recruitments and questioned the integrity of their actions.
Narayanaswamy accused the government of failing to address youth unemployment issues and emphasized the BJP’s efforts to raise awareness on the matter in the Legislative Council. He pledged the BJP’s support to the unemployed educated youth and vowed to continue pressuring the government to fill vacant positions. Narayanaswamy labeled the current administration as a “government of betrayal,” alleging that it had neglected the interests of Dalits, youth, and students.
The Opposition leader pointed out the increasing frustration among the educated population due to the government’s failure to fulfill promises on job opportunities. He mentioned widespread protests led by the BJP demanding the filling of over 2.84 lakh vacant posts. Narayanaswamy also referenced a recent protest in Dharwad where thousands of youth participated, prompting the government to announce the filling of 56,000 positions within a month. However, discrepancies arose when the government provided conflicting information during a session in Belagavi, according to Narayanaswamy.
He further criticized the government for its handling of the shortage of cooking gas, attributing it to disruptions in crude oil supply from Gulf nations. Narayanaswamy accused Congress leaders of politicizing the issue and staging protests for show, alleging their lack of understanding of the underlying global and national factors at play.
