Karnataka Police have detained three minors in connection with a stone-pelting incident targeting Om Shakti devotees in Bengaluru. The detentions were based on suspicions and statements from the devotees. Home Minister G. Parameshwara mentioned that four to five minors, aged between 15 and 17, were involved in the incident during the Om Shakti worship.
The investigation is ongoing to identify those who incited the minors to throw stones. DCP (West) N. Yathish confirmed the filing of a complaint regarding the stone-pelting incident and assured that the accused would be apprehended. The police have deployed Karnataka State Reserve Police in the area and are actively working on the case.
Two women sustained injuries during the incident, and although CCTV footage is unavailable, the police are gathering information and forming special teams to catch the culprits. The tension arose in Bengaluru’s JJ Nagar area after stones were thrown at a Hindu ritual, causing unrest among Hindu organizations. The protesters demanded immediate action against the perpetrators and voiced concerns over recurring attacks during religious events.
