Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar revealed plans to create two new ministries in the state during a recent meeting with top officials. One ministry will cater to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), focusing on aiding their investments and needs. Another ministry will address public grievances, ensuring a dedicated approach to handling citizen complaints and issues. Shivakumar emphasized the importance of transparent and accountable governance, urging officials to work without bias and with a focus on solutions. Additionally, measures will be taken to enhance law enforcement and administrative efficiency.
Shivakumar directed the formation of an NRI Ministry to support overseas Indian investments and services in Karnataka. The government aims to streamline facilities for NRIs interested in investing in the state. A separate Public Grievance Ministry will be established to manage and respond to citizen complaints effectively. The Chief Minister stressed the need for officials to operate transparently and independently, free from external influences. Departments have been tasked with developing action plans promptly to ensure a responsive and accountable governance system.
To address public concerns, Shivakumar instructed officials to adopt a proactive and constructive approach. Special police units will be set up at the taluk level to combat criminal activities and maintain law and order. The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi and pledged to enhance coordination and administrative structures. The government’s focus remains on efficient governance, transparency, and citizen welfare.
