Karnataka Water Resources Minister Ramalinga Reddy announced his resignation from the state Cabinet, citing dissatisfaction with Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar over the Bengaluru Urban portfolio allocation. Reddy confirmed his decision to step down from his position, leaving the acceptance to the party leadership.
Expressing his discontent with the situation, Reddy emphasized that he would not retract his resignation and would forward the letter to the party leadership instead of delivering it personally. He highlighted his extensive political career since 1985 and his various roles in the government over the years.
Reddy, who had served in multiple key portfolios, including Education, Transport, and Finance, expressed his frustration over the recent developments. Despite acknowledging the opportunities given by the Chief Minister and the Congress party, he stated that he could not compromise his principles and hence decided to resign from his ministerial post.
