Senior religious leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chief cleric of Kashmir, revealed on Friday that he has been placed under house arrest amidst ongoing restrictions in the Valley. Mirwaiz Umar expressed disappointment over the heightened restrictions during the holy month of Ramzan, noting the silence at the Jama Masjid and the blockades leading to the mosque. He also criticized the US-Israel actions on Iran, condemning the aggression in the region.
Mirwaiz Umar emphasized the unity of the Muslim community in condemning the aggression, extending solidarity to those affected by the conflicts. He highlighted the importance of standing together as one ummah during times of injustice and crisis. Expressing support for the people of Iran and Palestinians, he called for peace and justice in the face of man-made catastrophes.
