Actress Kate Winslet revealed that she never planned to become a director but changed her mind after reading her son Joe Anders’ first script, “Goodbye June.” Joe, her son with ex-husband Sir Sam Mendes, started writing the screenplay at 19. Kate, 50, expressed pride in Joe’s work and her role in protecting and developing the project. The film also features Dame Helen Mirren, Timothy Spall, Andrea Riseborough, and Johnny Flynn. Kate credited her acting experience for helping her transition to directing, emphasizing the importance of a safe and informed working environment on film sets. Despite her success in various projects, Kate noted the ongoing public fascination with her role in Titanic, finding it curious that discussions about the film often overshadow her newer endeavors.
