Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused the CPI(M) of resorting to violence to distract the public from the party’s failed ten-year rule in the state. Chandrasekhar claimed that orchestrated violence was being used as a political tool by the CPI(M) to shift attention from financial mismanagement and administrative failures exposed by Chief Minister Satheesan’s White Paper.
He drew a comparison to past incidents under a Congress-led government, stating that the BJP would not tolerate violence like that seen at the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Chandrasekhar emphasized that the BJP, as the country’s largest political party, would not be intimidated by what he called “cheap political theatrics.”
Chandrasekhar alleged that the CPI(M) had planned protests to divert focus from corruption allegations and administrative shortcomings in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. He highlighted the need for public protests against issues such as unemployment, inflation, and the CPI(M)’s failure to address civic problems despite its long governance in the region.
The BJP leader stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law in Kerala, asserting that legal institutions would carry out their duties without bias. He also mentioned the emergence of the BJP-led NDA as a strong alternative in Kerala post-Assembly elections, noting public awareness of what he described as a political understanding between the CPI(M) and the Congress within the INDIA Bloc.
