Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed deep concern about the Gulf region’s crisis, causing anxiety among Malayali families in Kerala and abroad. With over 2.5 million Keralites in the Middle East, Vijayan emphasized the strong ties between Kerala and the Gulf nations, calling it a “second home” for the state. He extended Kerala’s solidarity to the Gulf nations and urged expatriates to follow official guidelines and avoid spreading unverified information.
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of peace and stability in the region, urging wise decisions for crisis resolution. Vijayan advised expatriates to stay connected with Indian embassies, rely on official sources for updates, and refrain from sharing unverified news. He emphasized the need for unity among Malayalis during challenging times, recalling past instances of resilience and mutual support during crises.
Vijayan assured full government support to expatriates and their families in Kerala, working closely with the Ministry of External Affairs for their safety. The state government is coordinating efforts through NORKA and engaging with Loka Kerala Sabha members in the Gulf for relief initiatives.
