Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently honored Indian cricketer Sanju Samson for his significant role in India’s victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Vijayan hosted Samson at his official residence, Cliff House, where he presented him with a special memento recognizing his achievements. During the ceremony, Samson, aged 31, was commended for his outstanding performances in crucial matches during the tournament.
Samson, donning traditional attire, received accolades for his remarkable contributions in the T20 World Cup, including notable innings like scoring 97 off 50 balls against the West Indies. Vijayan expressed his admiration for Samson’s accomplishments and conveyed the support and pride of the people of Kerala. The cricketer’s journey in the tournament faced initial challenges, but he overcame them with stellar performances, becoming a key player in India’s successful campaign.
After the celebratory event, Samson shifted his focus to the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, where he will debut for the Chennai Super Kings, a five-time IPL champion team. The Chennai Super Kings, led by Samson, will commence their IPL 2026 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati. The team aims to bounce back strongly this season after finishing at the bottom of the table in the previous IPL edition.
