Several players from Australia and India, including Arundhati Reddy, Shree Charani, and Georgia Voll, have shown remarkable progress in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. India’s recent victory over Australia in a closely fought T20I series has positively impacted the rankings.
Indian bowler Arundhati Reddy has achieved her career-best ranking, moving up five places to 11th among T20I bowlers. Reddy’s standout performance in the series, where she took eight wickets, has earned her this recognition. Additionally, Shree Charani has climbed 11 spots to secure the 26th position in the T20I bowlers’ rankings.
In the Australian camp, players like Annabel Sutherland and Ash Gardner have seen improvements in their rankings. Sutherland, following a strong series, rose two positions to second place overall, while Gardner moved up two spots to 18th. However, the top spot in the T20I bowlers’ rankings is still held by Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal.
Ash Gardner’s versatility was also acknowledged as she climbed to third place in the T20I all-rounder rankings, highlighting her all-round skills. Meanwhile, young Australian talents Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield made significant strides in the T20I batters’ rankings. Voll surged 26 places to tie for 10th, while Litchfield advanced four spots to 12th. India’s Jemimah Rodrigues also moved up one place to share the 10th spot with Voll and Litchfield.
In the ODI rankings, several Proteas players have made notable progress. Sune Luus jumped four places to 30th among ODI batters and rose five spots to 17th in the ODI all-rounders’ rankings. Marizanne Kapp also climbed one spot to second place in the all-rounder rankings, just behind Australia’s Ash Gardner. Among the ODI bowlers, South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba moved up to the ninth spot, while West Indies spinner Karishma Ramharack advanced four positions to 26th, showcasing their upward trajectory in the global rankings.
