Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju recently posted a video showcasing the chaotic situation that unfolded in Lok Sabha on February 4. He criticized the Congress and opposition MPs for their disruptive behavior during the session. The video depicted women Congress MPs surrounding the Prime Minister’s chair, despite efforts to persuade them to return to their seats.
The incident occurred when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to address the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address. The video shared by Rijiju highlighted the tense moment when the women MPs refused to move, even after requests from Union Ministers. The situation escalated to the point where Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla advised the Prime Minister to skip his address to prevent further chaos.
Rijiju condemned the Congress party for instigating its women MPs to block the Prime Minister’s path, commending BJP lawmakers for their composure. He emphasized the importance of upholding parliamentary decorum to avoid potential disruptions. This incident marked a significant clash during the Motion of Thanks debate in Lok Sabha, underscoring the challenges faced in maintaining order during parliamentary proceedings.
