Three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced that Angkrish Raghuvanshi, their wicketkeeper-batter, will miss the rest of the 2026 season after suffering a concussion and finger fracture during a match against Mumbai Indians. Raghuvanshi sustained the injuries while attempting a catch, colliding with a teammate in the process.
Despite initially continuing to play, Raghuvanshi eventually left the field for treatment. A concussion substitute, Tejasvi Singh Dahiya, took over wicketkeeping duties and contributed with the bat in KKR’s successful chase. Raghuvanshi, who had been in good form this season, will be a significant loss for KKR in their crucial upcoming match against Delhi Capitals.
This is not the first time Raghuvanshi has faced injury concerns, having previously suffered a neck and head injury during a domestic match. His absence will impact KKR’s chances of making it to the playoffs, as they need a win in their final group-stage game and results from other teams to go in their favor.
KKR, who have had a mixed season, are still in contention for a playoff spot but will need favorable outcomes in their remaining matches. The team has a history of making it to the playoffs, and their current campaign hangs in the balance as they aim to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
