The Kota–Bundi Greenfield Airport project in the Hadoti region officially started with the laying of its foundation stone at Shambhupura in Kota. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the event virtually, congratulated the people of Hadoti and highlighted the airport’s significance for growth and connectivity in the region. The project’s foundation stone was laid by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu.
Recalling the region’s economic aspirations, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized the importance of improved air connectivity through the Kota–Bundi Airport. He noted the region’s potential in industry, agriculture, and education, especially as a major educational hub. Nearly 600 hectares of land near the airport have been allocated for industrial development, aiming to attract new industries to the area.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the project’s priority under the new state government, emphasizing the removal of obstacles to ensure swift progress. Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu acknowledged past delays but expressed commitment to completing the airport within two years. The minister also mentioned plans to preserve the existing Kota airstrip and establish a flying training center.
Leaders welcomed the airport project, anticipating enhanced air connectivity to boost investment, tourism, and employment opportunities in the Hadoti region. The project is expected to complement existing infrastructure and contribute to the region’s economic growth and development.
