Kuwait’s air defense systems were activated in response to perceived missile and drone threats, leading to the sounding of warning sirens across the country. The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces clarified on social media that any explosions heard were a result of interceptions and advised the public to adhere to safety instructions from relevant authorities. Sirens were reportedly activated as a precautionary measure against ongoing aerial threats, as confirmed by the state news agency KUNA.

Recent attacks on Kuwait have focused on military installations and critical infrastructure, such as oil facilities, power plants, and water desalination plants, resulting in injuries and material damage, according to Kuwaiti officials. The United States conducted multiple strikes on Iran in the preceding week, citing the objective of diminishing Iran’s capacity to disrupt commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, as reported by Xinhua News Agency. Iran, in turn, launched missiles and drones targeting US bases and facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy disclosed that several power generation and water desalination plants in Kuwait were attacked, leading to fires at various sites. To safeguard equipment and ensure the stability of the country’s electricity and water supply systems, several electricity-generating units were temporarily shut down. The ministry is currently engaged in evaluating the damage, conducting repairs, and initiating rehabilitation efforts.

The Jordan Armed Forces announced that they successfully intercepted and downed three Iranian missiles using their air defense systems. Additionally, they neutralized five drones launched from Iran during the overnight and morning hours, with no reported casualties or damages.
