Hosts Ladakh and ITBP women have advanced to the final of the ice hockey competition at the Khelo India Winter Games 2026. The final will be a rematch of last year’s women’s ice hockey summit clash in Leh, Ladakh. The men’s 1000 meters long-track finals were affected by heavy snowfall, causing the women’s final to be impacted as well.
Defending champions Army secured a spot in the men’s ice hockey semifinals by defeating Jammu & Kashmir 11-0. Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre will face ITBP in the semifinals. Ladakh and ITBP women dominated their opponents in the semifinals, setting up a highly anticipated final. Ladakh women triumphed over Himachal Pradesh 14-0, while ITBP defeated Chandigarh 10-1.
The Ladakh women’s team, led by skipper Yangdol, expressed confidence after winning all matches so far in KIWG 2026. ITBP’s captain, Tashi Dolkar, highlighted their improved preparation compared to last year’s tournament. The stage is set for an exciting final between Ladakh and ITBP women, promising a thrilling showdown.
