Actress-singer Lady Gaga has submitted her track ‘The Dead Dance’ from the popular series ‘Wednesday’ for consideration at the Emmys in the outstanding music and lyrics category. The song, written and produced by Lady Gaga along with Andrew Watt and Cirkut, is featured in the second season of the Tim Burton-directed show during Episode 7, where characters Enid and Agnes perform a dance routine at the Venetian Gala. Lady Gaga, a fan of the series, shared that she had the song ‘The Dead Dance’ in mind when approached for music, and she further enhanced it for ‘Wednesday’.
Lady Gaga, who released the song last September, integrated it into her Mayhem Ball Tour setlist. Explaining the inspiration behind ‘The Dead Dance’, Lady Gaga revealed that it revolves around the theme of a breakup and the impact it has on one’s outlook on love. Despite the theme, the song is described as upbeat, focusing on transformation and celebration. Lady Gaga emphasized that the track is not just about relationships but also about enjoying time with friends after overcoming challenges.
