Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, has criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his decision to move to the Rajya Sabha amidst ongoing political developments in Bihar. Acharya highlighted Kumar’s earlier promise to halt migration from Bihar during the Assembly election campaign and pointed out the irony in his own move to migrate now. She also questioned Kumar’s stance on nepotism while congratulating his son, Nishant Kumar, for entering politics through the Janata Dal (United) (JDU). Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan raised concerns over Nitish Kumar’s reported shift to the Upper House just 100 days after being sworn in for a full five-year term as Chief Minister. Gagan emphasized the need for transparency regarding the reasons behind Kumar’s potential move to the Rajya Sabha, especially with his son’s recent entry into active politics.
