The Lashkar-e-Taiba leadership has been engaging with various individuals from the political sphere, drawing scrutiny from Indian agencies. They aim to revive their Kashmir narrative through a two-pronged strategy involving the expansion of terrorist launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and intensifying propaganda efforts. With over 500 terrorists poised for infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir, the group’s failed attempts have left them desperate.
In a recent meeting in PoK, the Lashkar-e-Taiba leadership decided to escalate the number of launchpads to challenge Indian security forces. Intelligence reports indicate a plan to position over a thousand terrorists at these launchpads, creating significant pressure on Indian defenses. The group also intends to multiply infiltration attempts, from five to potentially twenty per day, hoping for at least one successful breach.
The Lashkar-e-Taiba’s strategy aligns with Pakistan’s dual objectives in Kashmir, aiming for a strong local presence while leveraging Pakistani terrorists for impactful attacks. Following the Pahalgam attack by The Resistance Front, the group faced setbacks during Operation Sindoor, which targeted their primary training facility in Muridke. Recent meetings between key figures like Talha Saeed and political aides signal a shift in leadership dynamics within the outfit.
