The Lashkar-e-Taiba, which faced significant losses during Operation Sindoor last year, is now focusing on rebuilding its network and leadership. The outfit has decided to promote Talha Saeed, son of founder Hafiz Saeed, to lead the organization, while Hafiz Saeed will maintain a mentoring role.
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has noted the outfit’s efforts to restructure its operational network, dividing it into three separate commands for Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Each region-specific command aims to enhance control and intelligence gathering by involving locals and covert operatives.
The strategy includes infiltrating the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to strengthen intelligence capabilities. In PoK, the focus is on carrying out attacks to intimidate the local population and create unrest, with plans to blame India for any major terror incidents.
