A late-night altercation at a pub in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, turned violent when some youths allegedly stabbed two men who opposed the harassment of two women. The victims, seriously injured, were taken to Tata Main Hospital (TMH). The situation escalated further when the accused group confronted the victims at the hospital, leading to another clash outside the emergency ward.
The incident occurred at the Double Down Pub & Bar in the Bistupur police station area on Saturday night. Witnesses and police reported that a dispute arose late at night over the alleged harassment of two women. When the women’s companions objected, a verbal argument ensued, escalating into a physical altercation. Bouncers and security personnel then escorted both groups out of the pub as tensions rose.
Allegedly, one group called for reinforcements after exiting the pub, resulting in a confrontation on the street. During this confrontation, two youths, identified as Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Singh, were stabbed multiple times and collapsed on the road. Locals assisted in rushing them to Tata Main Hospital for medical attention. Subsequently, members of the opposing group arrived at the hospital, sparking another scuffle outside the emergency ward and causing panic among patients and visitors.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police intervened to restore order. Bistupur police have initiated an investigation into the matter. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the pub and surrounding areas and will proceed based on the statements provided by the injured individuals. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the altercation.
