The Local Crime Branch (LCB) in Valsad, Gujarat, intercepted a pick-up truck smuggling Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 14.20 lakh from Silvassa to Una. The liquor, hidden under rice husk sacks, was discovered during a prohibition-related operation.

Under the supervision of LCB Police Inspector A.U. Roz, the raid was part of the district’s crackdown on prohibition offenses. Acting on specific intelligence, the team intercepted a brown Tata Tempo on the Mumbai-Surat road, uncovering 203 boxes of IMFL beneath rice husk sacks.

The seized liquor, including whisky, vodka, and beer, totaled 8,940 bottles and cans with a volume of 1,809.360 litres. Additionally, the authorities confiscated the vehicle, rice husk sacks, and a mobile phone during the operation. The driver, Himmat Solanki, was arrested, while two other accused individuals were named in the case.
