Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent call to citizens to conserve fuel, reduce non-essential consumption, and bolster the economy amid global disruptions has garnered significant backing from leaders in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Uttar Pradesh Minister Kailash Singh Rajput emphasized the relevance of the Prime Minister’s appeal in the current global scenario, praising Modi as a distinguished world leader. He highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in heeding the Prime Minister’s message.
Similarly, Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav commended the initiative, hailing it as praiseworthy given the ongoing global crisis. Yadav noted that this was not the first time PM Modi had made such appeals, recalling the public’s wholehearted response during the COVID-19 period. He emphasized the nation’s unity in overcoming challenges together, echoing support for the Prime Minister’s recent call.
These reactions followed Prime Minister Modi’s address at a public gathering in Secunderabad, where he urged citizens to assist India in navigating economic challenges stemming from global turmoil. Modi advocated for fuel conservation, public transport usage, work-from-home arrangements, reduced non-essential spending, and curtailed overseas travel to preserve foreign exchange reserves. He underscored the significance of responsible daily conduct in both national and global crises, emphasizing the need to prioritize saving foreign exchange amidst escalating global fuel costs and supply chain disruptions.
PM Modi highlighted the importance of reducing fuel consumption through measures such as utilizing metro systems, public transport, car-pooling for private travel, shifting goods transport to railways, and promoting the use of electric vehicles whenever possible.
