BJP leader and former tennis player Leander Paes expressed concern over the impact of “dirty politics” on West Bengal’s progress. He recently joined the BJP before the state’s Assembly election. Paes conveyed his condolences for the tragic death of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s aide Chandranath Rath.
Referring to Bengal as a “secular state,” Paes praised its people for their unity and beauty. However, he highlighted the negative influence of dirty politics on the state’s development. Paes credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the BJP’s success in Bengal.
Paes emphasized the importance of a strong partnership, mentioning his commitment to serving under PM Modi’s guidance. He expressed enthusiasm for contributing to youth, sports, and the nation. Paes expressed optimism that Bengal, under PM Modi’s leadership, could become a model state.
The former tennis player hoped for a flourishing future for West Bengal, emphasizing its potential in agriculture, manufacturing, and sports. Paes believed that with the right leadership, Bengal could match the progress seen in Assam and Odisha.
