Veteran actress Leena Chandavarkar, known as legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s wife, shared an interesting fact about the singer’s love for ‘paan’ while disliking tobacco, lime, and other additives in the after-meal freshener. During a special episode of Indian Idol dedicated to Kishore Kumar, Leena and her son Sumit disclosed some lesser-known stories about the iconic singer. Host Aditya Narayan mentioned one of Kishore Kumar’s peculiarities of wearing mismatched footwear to the recording studio, to which Leena confirmed his unique ways.
Leena Chandavarkar further revealed that Kishore Kumar had a specific habit of only consuming plain paan leaves, particularly the Calcutta variety, without any additional ingredients like lime, tobacco, or betel nut. She emphasized that he was strictly against such additives and would only chew on plain paan leaves.
