Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour organizer, Satadru Dutta, has urged for a fair investigation into the turmoil that occurred during the football star’s Kolkata event. Dutta criticized the previous Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry, labeling it a “farce” and alleging that crucial individuals were overlooked. He emphasized the need for a new impartial investigation, expressing readiness to cooperate with all necessary documentation.
Dutta accused the police and security arrangements of failing during the event, despite extensive preparations and security meetings. He highlighted the security lapses, particularly considering the presence of international and national celebrities like Messi, Shah Rukh Khan, and others. Dutta stressed that despite thorough planning and permissions, the security measures were inadequate, leading to the chaotic situation.
The organizer defended the event’s execution, stating that he had not received any financial assistance from the government and had organized everything lawfully. Dutta clarified that the event, which brought Messi to India after three years of effort, was privately organized without government funding. He expressed disappointment at being implicated to protect others from embarrassment, emphasizing the event’s legality and proper conduct.
Dutta criticized the security failure, comparing it to the stringent measures in place during major film festivals involving celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. He raised concerns about Messi’s safety amidst the disorder, emphasizing the need for stringent security for such global icons. Dutta also mentioned alleged incidents involving former minister Aroop Biswas and his own arrest, citing intimidation tactics used against him.
