English football club Liverpool received a setback as their goalkeeper Alisson Becker hinted at a prolonged absence due to injury before their upcoming Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Alisson, who missed a recent UEFA Champions League game due to a minor muscle problem, did not travel with the team for the Brighton clash.
In an Instagram post, Alisson expressed gratitude for the fans’ support but also mentioned a need for an extended recovery period. This setback comes after Liverpool’s forward Mohammad Salah was also sidelined with a muscle injury sustained during a previous Champions League match.
Liverpool, currently vying for a top-four finish in the Premier League, faces challenges with key players out injured. The team is striving to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the 2026-27 season, trailing behind Aston Villa and Manchester United in the league standings.
