Local favorites Surya Charishma Tamiri and Tanvi Patri will face off in the women’s singles final, while Rithvik Sanjeevi S. will compete against Bharat Raghav in the men’s singles final at the Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada. These players secured their spots in the finals after hard-fought victories in the semifinals.
Surya Charishma overcame Rakshita Sree R in a challenging match, winning 21-18, 18-21, 21-9, while Tanvi rallied from a game down to defeat Shruti Mundada 18-21, 21-12, 21-15, marking their first senior nationals finals appearance. In the men’s singles, Rithvik Sanjeevi S emerged victorious against Kiran George after a tough battle, winning 21-16, 17-21, 22-20.
Rithvik will now face Bharat Raghav, who defeated M Tharun 21-17, 11-21, 21-11 in the semifinals. Additionally, in the mixed doubles category, Ashith Surya and Amrutha P. staged a comeback to beat Deep Rambhiya and Sonali Mirkhelkar, while Sathwik Reddy K. and Radhika Sharma defeated Nitin Kumar and Kanika Kanwal.
The women’s doubles final will feature former national champions Shikha Gautam and Ashwini Bhat K. against Priya Devi Konjengban and Shruti Mishra. The competition witnessed intense matches as players fought hard to secure their places in the finals.
