Local Players Triumph at Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada

Surya Charishma Tamiri and Ritvik Sanjeevi S. emerged victorious in the women’s and men’s singles finals, respectively, at the Senior National Badminton Championships held in Vijayawada. Surya Charishma, with strong local support, staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Tanvi Patri 17-21, 21-12, 21-14 in the women’s singles final. Meanwhile, Ritvik secured the men’s singles title by overcoming Bharat Raghav 21-16, 22-20 in a closely contested match.

The women’s singles final showcased a thrilling battle between Surya Charishma and Tanvi, with both players displaying their skills in the 58-minute encounter. Tanvi initially took the lead in the match during the opening game, but Surya Charishma’s resilience turned the tide in her favor, leading to a series of consecutive points that secured her victory.

In the men’s singles final, Ritvik’s solid defense and composure proved instrumental in his win over Bharat Raghav. Despite facing pressure in the second game, Ritvik’s strategic play and focus allowed him to maintain control and ultimately claim the title after a competitive match.

The Senior National Badminton Championships also saw Shikha Gautam and Ashwini Bhat K. triumph in the women’s doubles category, while Hariharan Amsakarunan and R. Ruban Kumar emerged victorious in the men’s doubles final. Additionally, Sathwik Reddy K and Radhika Sharma upset top seeds Ashith Surya and Amrutha P to clinch the mixed doubles title.
