Despite efforts by Dilip Saikia, who was in the Chair, to restore order, the din persisted. Saikia urged members to cooperate for a smooth functioning of the Lok Sabha and to address important issues during Zero Hour discussions.
The Opposition’s continuous slogans and disruptions in the well of the House prompted the adjournment of the Lok Sabha till 1 p.m. The House was initially adjourned till noon, reconvened briefly at noon, but was adjourned again within seven minutes due to the uproar. Speaker Om Birla paid tribute to former MPs before chaos ensued in the House.
During the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for experienced parliamentarians to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament amidst global uncertainties. He called for meaningful discussions and a collective effort to advance the nation, urging MPs to engage in productive debates and ensure every voice is heard respectfully.
