Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, along with Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, led a meeting at Parliament House to discuss enhancing the dairy sector in the Kota-Bundi region. The focus was on strengthening cooperatives, improving marketing strategies, and increasing livestock productivity through better services. Emphasis was also placed on digitalizing the dairy value chain and implementing capacity-building initiatives.

Key areas of discussion included expanding dairy cooperative networks, enhancing milk processing infrastructure, and boosting livestock productivity through improved breeding and healthcare services. Birla emphasized the importance of scaling up Artificial Insemination coverage to enhance milk production and breed quality livestock. He also stressed the need to strengthen procurement systems and expand dairy cooperatives to maximize milk collection.

Birla directed officials to set up small-scale biogas units and fodder production plants in the region to ensure a steady supply of green fodder throughout the year. He also called for expanding dairy cooperative networks to every village, increasing producer participation, and implementing digital payment systems for farmers.

Efforts are underway to ensure year-round availability of green fodder through a cattle feed plant, and steps are being taken to improve livestock reproductive capacity. Birla reviewed progress on the proposed Animal Veterinary College in Kota and emphasized the need to enhance milk processing capacity and expand cooperative societies.
