Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to inaugurate the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 on Tuesday. The event aims to boost youth engagement with democratic processes and provide them with a practical understanding of governance and parliamentary operations.
Hosted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a platform that harnesses the energy, ideas, and dreams of India’s youth for national dialogue. The national-level event, scheduled from June 15 to 17, seeks to enhance youth involvement in democratic processes by offering them hands-on experience in governance and policy discussions.
According to an official statement, the resolutions formulated during the event will have a lasting impact, motivating young leaders to actively contribute to India’s progress towards Viksit Bharat 2047. The program is structured into three stages – District Nodal Rounds, State Rounds, and National Round – to deepen youth participation in the democratic process.
During the ongoing National Round, exceptional delegates from all States and Union Territories will convene in New Delhi for the final leg of the event. Activities at this stage include “Opening Remarks,” where team representatives will address the House on topics like ‘Nari Shakti Vandan: Catalysing Inclusivity and Viksit Bharat 2047.’
Moreover, a “Question Hour” session will encourage teams to ask and answer questions within a specific time frame, fostering collaborative problem-solving. Participants will also benefit from a “Masterclass” on oratory and public speaking by a distinguished personality to enhance their leadership skills.
As part of the program, delegates will delve into India’s political history and leadership by visiting the PM Sangrahalaya and exploring the new Parliament building. The event will culminate on June 17 with the presentation of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 Awards, recognizing the remarkable contributions of young participants.
