State Lokayukta officials in Karnataka conducted early-morning raids at various places associated with the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Administrator due to allegations of amassing disproportionate assets. The raids are ongoing at six locations in the Koppal district, including the administrator’s residence, private office, and other properties. Officials are currently examining documents and financial details as part of the operation, with over 30 Lokayukta officials participating.

The raids, led by Koppal Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police Lokesh, are supported by teams from Gadag, Haveri, and Raichur districts. The focus of the operation is to review records related to assets, income sources, and financial transactions. Previously, the administrator faced scrutiny in connection with the Valmiki Corporation scam, leading to his suspension from service.

In a separate incident, Karnataka Lokayukta discovered assets worth Rs 26.55 crore belonging to a Forest department official after conducting searches at multiple locations. The official, Tejesh Kumar N., was found to possess significant assets, including farmland, houses, and sites. The ongoing investigation targets government officers accused of accumulating disproportionate assets beyond their known income sources in various districts across Karnataka.
