The Lonavala Rural Police are planning to request court approval for polygraph tests on Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, the accused in businessman Ketan Agarwal’s murder case. Investigators suspect crucial details are being withheld and aim to verify the truth through these tests. The police have found discrepancies in the statements provided by the accused during questioning.
As part of the investigation, Siya Goyal, the main accused, was taken to her residence for official documentation procedures. The police custody of both accused individuals is set to conclude on July 3. Following this, authorities are expected to approach the court to conduct polygraph tests on Siya Goyal and her alleged accomplice, Chetan Chaudhary.
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are accused of pushing Ketan Agarwal, Siya’s fiancé, off a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Pune. Police investigations included a recreation of the crime scene at the fort and a gait analysis of Chaudhary. Ketan had reportedly grown suspicious of Siya’s relationship with Chaudhary before his tragic demise.
The investigation also revealed that Ketan Agarwal had expressed concerns about Siya’s closeness to Chetan Chaudhary to his family. Ketan’s father mentioned that Ketan had doubts about Siya’s relationship with Chaudhary and had requested a background check on her. The couple had announced their engagement and planned to marry in November, with elaborate arrangements made for the wedding.
